Although Pétalos is not a documentary, it was played by a real life flower vendor with no prior acting experience. It was a beautiful, genuine and heartfelt story which made the music writing process that much harder. I felt a different kind of pressure doing justice this particular lead. We kept the instrumentation light and acoustic in order to maintain a joyful innocence that is carried through the film. My longtime collaborator Luis Guigo Sánchez worked on a custom song that would see the film out. The song was a special cue as we were able to recorded in my hometown of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico at PMG Studio.
